BENCHMARKETING™
noun
The practice of conducting lengthy recruitment processes, technical interviews, code challenges, and candidate benchmarking without a clear hiring intent, often resulting in generic feedback such as "we'll keep your profile for future opportunities."
Symptoms may include:
• Multiple interview rounds without transparency.
• Unpaid assessments or code challenges.
• AI interviews or recorded introduction videos.
• Undefined budgets, responsibilities, or timelines.
• Generic rejection feedback after successful evaluations.
Not to be confused with legitimate hiring processes.
